Trevor Completes Eastbourne Half Marathon for WRAS
Thank you to everyone for their support on Sunday with the Eastbourne Half Marathon.
It was a very difficult day. I woke not feeling well and from 6am in the morning spent most of my time in the bathroom! Not wanting to let anyone down I managed to pull myself together and headed to Eastbourne. I met up with my colleague Chris and his partner Laura who gave us a lift to the start. The weather was terrible but as we approached the start time it cleared up.
WRAS to appear on ITV1
East Sussex Wildlife Rescue & Ambulance Service will appear on ITV1's Unbelievable Moments Caught on Camera" series 4 on Sunday 8th January at 5.30pm.
The episode will feature WRAS founder Trevor Weeks MBE and Casualty Manager Chris Riddington dealing with a fox rescue in Bexhill.
Dedicated Daryl’s Atlantic Christmas Row for WRAS
A 42 year old man from Forest Row in East Sussex who is so passionate about raising money for a local animal charity he will be spending Christmas away from his family!
Alone at sea for 90 days Daryl Farmer will be raising money for East Sussex Wildlife Rescue & Ambulance Service (WRAS), rowing over 3000 miles solo from La Gomera to Antigua starting on Wednesday 14th December 2016. He will be one of 12 boats undertaking the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge and he will be one of only four soloists!
Stephen Lloyd Opens WRAS’s Charity Shop
Thank you Stephen Lloyd for opening our brand new charity shop with Trevor Weeks on Saturday morning. The ribbon has now been cut and the shop is officially open. Thank to everyone that came along and shared cake and nibbles with us and picked up a bargain. Thank you to everyone who baked some fantastic cakes and brought in drinks and bits, the cheese straws were amazing!
WRAS Charity Shop Grand Opening
WRAS is has opened a Charity Shop in Eastbourne to help raise funds to keep the charity running and saving the lives of thousands of animals every year.
The shop which is at 192 Terminus Road, Eastbourne on the pedestrian section near T J Hughes, will be officially opened by former MP Stephen Lloyd and WRAS founder Trevor Weeks MBE at 10:30am.
Bojangles on Display at The Waterfront Eastbourne
Visitors to Eastbourne Sovereign Harbour’s Waterfront will be able to get up close and personal with a vessel which this winter will be sailing across the Atlantic to raise money for East Sussex Wildlife Rescue & Ambulance Service and the Peter Andre Cancer Fund.
Hedgehog Awareness Week 1st – 7th May 2016
People across East Sussex are being encouraged to find out more about one of the countries most loved creatures during a national awareness week on Hedgehogs.
The national Hedgehog Awareness Week runs from 1st May to 7th May 2016. Local charity East Sussex Wildlife Rescue & Ambulance Service (WRAS) are inviting people to come and visit their educational trailer:
Unusual Quiz Night 7th May 16
WRAS's Unusual Quiz Night is being held on Saturday 7th May at East Dean Village Hall as usual. Doors open at 7pm, food served 7.30pm and the Quiz starting at about 8pm. Teams of up to 6 people. Tickets are £10 per person and include the free meal and entry to the quiz. There will be a bar and raffle. These quizes are great fun evenings out which involve touch, taste, smell, sound, sight and much more!!! To book just call 01825-873003.
