Road Casualty Buzzard Released

A road casualty Buzzard found on the A22 at Uckfield on Monday morning has been released back to the wild today just 24 hours after being rescued.

The Buzzard one of Sussex's largest birds of prey, which have seen a distinct increase in numbers over the past 10 years, was found concussed at the side of the busy A22. A kind hearted motorist picked up the bird and delivered it to East Sussex WRAS's Casualty Centre at Whitesmith.

The bird was given first aid and TLC at the charities veterinary hospital and made an amazing recovery over night.

"We were amazed to see how well he was doing this morning. He was flying up on to the perches and really keen to go." said Trevor Weeks.

The Buzzard was taken back to the edge of the East Sussex National Golf Course where it was released and flew off back to the Wild.
