This swan was rescued at the end of Leeds Avenue, Eastboure on the 2nd October. The poor swan was quite lethargic, poor feather condition  and had a discharge from his mouth.

After consulting the Swan Sanctuary, this swan was transported up to their sanctuary for treatment for a botulism type infection.  The swan is on the mend but has a long way to go.

Rescuers had to rush to the aid of this swan found at the side of the road at Pevensey on Saturday 4th October.  The swan was very lethargic. Back at WRAS's Casualty Centre the swan was discovered to be very light in weight and running a temperature.  After medication and observation the swan started to deteriorate so was also taken up to the Swan Sanctuary to their more specialist facilities.   The swan continued to deteriorate even whilst in the Sanctuaries Intensive Care Unit and sadly passed away late on Monday 6th October. An X-ray reveiled Lead Poisoning.
