Toad & Newt Drain Rescue Seaford

WRAS received an unusual call after a member of the public noticed something moving down a drain in Firle Road, Seaford.

Unable to lift the drain cover WRAS rescuers were called out. Using WRAS's drain tools they were able to lift the drain cover to gain access.

A total of ten toads and a newt were rescued from down the drain. It is likely that they had fallen down during their autumn migration back to their hibernation grounds in woods, gardens and hedgerows.

All the amphibians were released unharmed.
