East Sussex WRAS is running a Nature Photo Competition this Summer and we would like to encourage you to enter and take part, we have been donated a number of prizes and the 12 winning entries will be put into a 2012 Calendar and sold to raise funds for WRAS.
We already have an array of prizes which include various vouchers and free places on different photography courses and much more. You can enter as many photos as you like, it cost £5 to enter up to 3 photos and £1 for each subsequent photo submitted. Photos should be of British wildlife or nature scenes and not of animals in captivity.
How to enter a photo
Send your photos via post either printed out or on a disk or memory stick, along with payment (payable to East Sussex WRAS) to enter to: East Sussex WRAS Photo Competition, PO Box 2148, Seaford, East Sussex, BN25 9DE. Alternatively you can e-mail photos between 1 and 2Mb in size to firstname.lastname@example.org, please do not e-mail more than 3 photos in any one e-mail or your entry may not get through. Please ensure to send you name, address, phone number and e-mail address with your entry. Entrants must be over 16.
Closing Date: 18th August 2011.

Conditions of Entry
The competition is open to amateur photographers. These are the rules which apply to your participation in the WRAS Amateur Wildlife Photo Competition. (“the Competition”). You must include your name, phone number and e-mail address in any submission. Read these rules carefully – they contain important information on how WRAS may use your photos and personal information.
By submitting your photos, name and contact details to WRAS and by entering the Competition you agree to these rules. If you do not agree please do not submit this information to WRAS. The promoter of the Competition is East Sussex WRAS. The Competition is open to UK residents aged 16 or over, excluding WRAS Directors &Trustees. Entrants under 18 on 1st September 2011 should obtain written permission from their parent or guardian and produce such permission to WRAS if required. The photo should be of sufficient quality to publish. WRAS reserves the right to edit any photo. Your photo is made at your own expense and WRAS shall not be liable to reimburse any expenses incurred in making a submission. WRAS will not return any photos. Photos can be created in any digital format. Photos may be displayed on WRAS ‘s website or on WRAS’s facebook and You Tube Channel.
All photos must be received by 12noon on 18th August 2011. WRAS will not be responsible for the non receipt of any entry. The photos will be judges by a selection of people from photographic and non-photographic backgrounds, to select photos that in their view are the most appropriate for inclusion in a WRAS’s Calendar where the entrants’ performance is in their view is the most deserving of the Competition Prize. Entrants can submit as many photos as they wish at a cost of £5 for up to 3 photos and subsequent entries are £1 per photo. WRAS reserves the right to use the Entrant’s photos to market the Competition. WRAS reserves the right to refuse any entry for any reason at its absolute discretion. The decisions of the Judges are final. Neither correspondence nor discussion concerning any decision shall be entered into. WRAS reserves the right to disqualify any entry if it has reasonable grounds to believe you have breached any of these terms and conditions. WRAS shall be under no obligation to include your entry in the Competition. If your photo contains what appears to be illegal conduct, WRAS may notify law enforcement authorities. The Entrant must submit only his/her own original work and agrees and confirms that this will not infringe the copyright or any other rights of any third party. Entry to the Competition by Entrants is done at his/her own risk.
No purchase is necessary to enter the Competition.
Finalists will contacted after 14th September 2011. If the Winner does not respond to WRAS’s notification by 19th September 2011 they will forfeit their right to any prize and WRAS may at its discretion select a replacement Winner. Only the Winners will be contacted by WRAS. The Winners’ names may be published on WRAS’s website. WRAS reserves the right to seek and issue publicity on behalf of the Entrant. By entering the Competition, the Entrant agrees to participate in publicity as reasonably requested surrounding the Competition.
WRAS accepts no responsibility for any misuse of intellectual property rights. You irrevocably and unconditionally grant to WRAS all necessary rights and consents for the full period of copyright to use any photo you submit for any purposes connected with the Competition including without limitation the ability for WRAS to digitize, encode, publish and transmit the photo on any website. Such right to use is royalty-free and no payment is, or shall be, due to you. For the avoidance of doubt the rights granted under this paragraph shall include the right to use the photos of the Winner on any website. You irrevocably and unconditionally waive any so-called “moral rights” or “performers’ rights” in the photo (as set out in the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 or otherwise) that you now have or may acquire in relation to the Materials. Any material created by or on behalf of WRAS utilizing your photo, or any component therein is and shall remain the property of WRAS. You are entirely responsible for the content you submit in your photos. Before you feature anyone else in your photo, you must have obtained their consent to photograph them and to submit the photo to WRAS. Everything you submit must be your own original work and not copied from anyone else’s.
By submitting your photo you agree and confirm that it does not infringe the copyright or any other rights of any third party. If you include anyone else’s material in your photo, you must have obtained their permission to do so. If you don’t, you will be infringing the copyright in the material. This includes material downloaded or copied from a website. Do not include anything that is pornographic, obscene, indecent, harassing, threatening or offensive. Your photo should not feature celebrities or public figures unless you have their permission or if you are the celebrity or public figure. You must have obtained all consents and licences necessary for you to submit the photo and for it to be used in the Competition. If any under 16s are shown in the photo, the written consent of their parent or guardian must be obtained. Photos must not contain viruses, Trojans or other harmful elements. Participation in the photo is at your own risk. You may be held legally accountable for your submission if you are in breach of the items listed above.
If any provision of these terms and conditions is held invalid by any law, rule, order or regulation of any government, or by the final determination of any court of a competent jurisdiction, such invalidity shall not affect the enforceability of any other provisions not held to be invalid. Our terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with English Law. Both you and WRAS hereby submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts. WRAS reserves the right to review and revise these rules from time to time without giving you prior notice. By entering the Competition subsequent to any revision of these rules, you agree to be bound by such changes. References to WRAS in these rules are to the charity East Sussex WRAS, 8 Stour Close, Stone Cross, East Sussex, BN24 5QU.
