Wealden Crematorium help support WRAS via their metal recycling scheme.

East Sussex Wildlife Rescue & Ambulance Service (WRAS) is incredibly grateful to Wealden Crematorium for their generous donation of £4,375, made possible through their metals recycling scheme. This initiative allows crematoriums across the country to donate funds to local charities each year, and we are honoured to have been selected as a beneficiary.
Earlier today, WRAS Founder Trevor Weeks MBE visited the crematorium to meet with staff and personally thank them for their support. During the visit, Trevor spoke about the essential work WRAS undertakes in rescuing, treating, and rehabilitating injured, orphaned, and distressed wildlife across East Sussex.
“This donation will go a long way in helping us continue our 24/7 emergency response service and provide the specialist care many casualties need,” said Trevor. “We’re deeply touched by this thoughtful and practical gesture of support from the Wealden Crematorium team.”
As well as supporting local charities, Wealden Crematorium is inviting the public to explore its stunning, nature-inspired grounds during their upcoming Open Day on 30th July 2025. This is a wonderful opportunity for the community to learn more about their environmentally conscious approach and the important work they do.
On behalf of everyone at WRAS – both two-legged and four-legged – thank you once again to Wealden Crematorium for your compassion and generosity.
