Casualty Updates

How to find out how a casualty is?

First and foremost, thank you so much for stopping and helping our local wildlife. Your willingness to stop and help is truly admirable.

As our organization grows, we have encountered challenges in managing the increasing number of inquiries regarding casualty updates. In 2024, we handled over 6600 casualties and we struggling to keep up with the surge in requests. This has led to significant time and financial burdens, impacting our ability to respond to rescue calls and care for the sick and injured wildlife already in our care.

To simplify the process, we have introduced a text messaging service. By texting "UPDATE" to 60777 followed by your casualty reference number, name, species and postcode, you can express your interest in receiving an update on the casualty you have helped. You can also fill in the form below.

Although responses will not be immediate, our team will dedicate time each month to text people who have requested updates, except during the busy season from May to August, where delays may be prolonged.

It is crucial to recognize that we are a small charity striving to minimize costs, and each update request requires time, funding, and resources to process. With nearly 6000 casualties handled last year, the workload is substantial. Casualties already in care or in need of rescue must take priority over providing updates.

Please be patient with us, and we will get back to you as soon as we are able to.

We have received several texts where the instructions on the "Thank You" leaflet have not been followed correctly and the Casualty Reference has not been included. Although we will try our best to find the casualty it may not always be possible to provided an update. If you are having trouble sending a text please use the form below.

Updates can take several weeks.

This request for an update will be sent to our Casualty Centre and they will try their best to provide an update. But please be patient especially during the summer when we are exceptionally busy and receiving hundreds of requests.
