Begin with a presentation to explore the challenges that hedgehogs encounter, and discover ways you can support them, as well as how to identify when they are in distress and require rescue. Refreshments provided.
We will then take a tour of the hospital, where hedgehogs and various other animals receive care. During this visit, we will showcase and explain the methods involved in their care, as well as how the charity operates.
At last, you'll get the chance to assist us with caring for, cleaning, and feeding some of the hedgehogs. You will learn the proper and safe way to handle a hedgehog.
It's important to keep in mind that they are wild animals, so we should remain as quiet as possible and minimize our handling of them as much as we can.
The experiences take place at weekends. Dates are dependent on availability of volunteer instructors. The sessions are 3 hours long starting at 10am finishing around 1pm.
If there are less than 4 of you on a session, due to lack of availability, the sessions might not be exclusive to you and we may book another 2 people on your day.
The vouchers are valid for a year from the date of purchase and can easily be given as a gift to a loved one, so they can book the experience themselves!
The experience takes place at East Sussex WRAS's Casualty Care Centre at Unit 2, The Shaw Barn, Whitesmith, East Sussex, BN8 6JD (on the A22 between Hailsham and Uckfield).
