Press & Media Hub

East Sussex WRAS has a rich history of working with local, regional, and national media. Our founder, Trevor Weeks MBE, wrote his first newspaper article in 1987 and made his debut on local TV news in the early 1990s. Since then, we have partnered with numerous production companies and appeared on both local and national television programmes.

We are committed to supporting and collaborating with the media, offering advice, insights, or facilitating filming and interview opportunities whenever our capacity and resources allow.

Urgent Media Response:

For urgent matters requiring immediate attention, especially when working under a tight deadline, please call 01825-873003, extension 300. If there is no answer, leave a message (disregard the out-of-hours answering machine message and instructions). For non-urgent inquiries, please send an email to media@eastsussexwras.org.uk.

Photography and Filming at WRAS:

Media filming is a common occurrence at WRAS. However, we must limit filming in certain areas based on the current wildlife in our care. For critical welfare reasons it is essential to minimize noise levels. Our approach to filming must be ethical and considerate of the wildlife, acknowledging their fear of human interaction. Ideally, we will ask that photographs should be captured without flash to avoid distressing the animals.
