WATCH: Lewes Swan Released

Remember this badly entangled swan from the River Ouse at Lewes?

Do you remember this swan “one of the worst entangled swans” WRAS founder Trevor Weeks has ever encountered? He was rescued on the 13th August with the help of two rowers in the River Ouse at Lewes. The poor swan has line wrapped round its body, legs, neck and wings and almost drowned as a result.

After a week in care recovering from its injuries and trauma, the swan has now been released back onto the River back to where found on Tuesday 20th August 2024.
