Future in Focus – We Did It!

Important Update on our Future In Focus Appeal!

Thanks to your incredible support, we have reached our fundraising target and our new X-ray equipment has now been ordered!

A few months ago, we launched our Future in Focus Appeal after the X-ray equipment at our Casualty Centre was failing us.

For a wildlife hospital dealing with thousands of casualties every year, losing such an important piece of reliable diagnostic equipment was a major blow.

Wild animals can’t tell our veterinary team where it hurts. X-rays allow us to look beneath the surface, identify fractures and other injuries, locate foreign objects and projectiles, assess the severity of trauma and make informed decisions about treatment.

So when our equipment started to failed us, we turned to you for help.

And you responded.

Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, donors and everyone who shared and promoted our appeal, we have now reached the funding we need to replace our X-ray equipment.

The new equipment has been ordered!

We are delighted to confirm that the process of purchasing our replacement X-ray equipment is now underway.

We are currently waiting for the new machine to arrive and be installed at our Casualty Centre at Whitesmith.

Once everything is in place, we will be sharing another update and showing you the equipment that your donations have helped provide.

So please watch this space!

A huge THANK YOU

We really cannot say this loudly enough:

THANK YOU.

Thank you to everyone who donated, whether it was £5, £10, £50, £100 or more.

Thank you to everyone who shared our appeal with friends, family and colleagues.

Thank you to the businesses, groups and organisations who supported us.

And thank you to everyone who continues to stand behind East Sussex WRAS and the wildlife casualties which come through our doors every single day.

Every donation, every share and every message of support helped us get here.

This new equipment isn’t simply another piece of machinery for our Casualty Centre. It will become part of the care provided to tens of thousands of wildlife casualties in the years ahead.

It could help identify the fracture in a tiny bird’s wing.

It could show the extent of an injury hidden beneath a fox’s fur.

It could reveal a pellet or projectile lodged inside an animal deliberately targeted with a catapult.

And it will help our veterinary team make faster, better-informed decisions about treatment, pain relief, rehabilitation and release.

You helped make this possible.

When we launched Future in Focus, we were asking our community to help us restore a vital part of our veterinary facilities.

You did exactly that.

From everyone at East Sussex Wildlife Rescue & Ambulance Service – and on behalf of the wildlife which will benefit from this equipment for years to come – thank you.

Our Future IS back in Focus.

Keep following us for the next update when our new X-ray equipment arrives and is installed at our Casualty Centre.
