Leaving WRAS a Gift in your Will?

Why support WRAS by leaving a Gift in your Will?

We do not receive any central Government or National Lottery funding, we are totally reliant on the incredible generosity of our supporters.  Without you we could not continue our vital work of rescuing, caring and rehabilitating injured, lost, orphaned and abandoned wildlife.

Annually we responded to and deal with free of any charge to over 5000 casualties, this includes veterinary bills, food, water, electric, bedding, caging, rescue equipment, vehicles and fuel, phone bills and other necessary expenses.  The number of casualties are increasing year on year.  Habitat degradation,  pollution, disruption of ecosystem and climate change are all impacting on the life and survival of our wildlife.

By leaving a gift in your Will no matter how large or small, will be a lasting gift, your compassion and kindness will help secure the future of WRAS and the vital service we provide to our wildlife.

Once your loved ones have been provided for please consider leaving a gift in your Will to  East Sussex WRAS. (Please state our official title “East Sussex WRAS” and including our registered charity number 1108880).

Making a will does not need to be difficult, however, you may worry about assets to be allocated, to whom and how. Writing your Will gives you peace of mind and removes the burden to your family to take on this  task at their time of bereavement. A bequest to WRAS need not affect your families financial stability.

As a charity, all bequests are free from all liability for inheritance tax and can be used to bring the value of your estate below the tax threshold which can be of tremendous benefit for those you leave behind.

There are a number of different types of gift you can make to support the work of WRAS in your will:

  • Pecuniary Legacy a gift of a sum of money (it is possible to add a pecuniary legacy to an existing Will using a simple Codicil document)
  • Residuary Legacy a gift of a share or all of what is left of your estate after all other payments have been made.
  • A specific gift this could be a gift of anything from a piece of jewellery or a property to a selection of shares.

It is important that your Will is legal, we recommend that you contact a professional for help in preparing your will.
