Trevor Weeks received IFAW Animal Action Award at House of Lords

Local animal rescuer Trevor Weeks has been awarded a prestigious Animal Rescue Award by the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) at the House of Lords yesterday.

Trevor was praised for his 25 years dedicating most of his life to helping sick, injured and orphaned wildlife across the UK.

Trevor said “it has been a special day and I can’t thank the people of East Sussex for their support and help in getting me and WRAS to where it is today. 25 years on I can’t believe that from a one-man-band we now have 4 ambulances and a Casualty Care Centre. It is an honour to receive this award.”

Trevor was presented with an engraved raw glass Rock Tablet. The awards were hosted by Baroness Gale at the House of Lords. Also present to celebrate Trevor’s award was Eastbourne’s MP Stephen Lloyd, Alan Knight OBE Chief Executive of International Animal Rescue, Trevor’s girlfriend Kathy Martyn and East Sussex WRAS committee members Brian and Monica Russell.
