Just after 11pm on Monday 15th October on Eastbourne Road, Uckfield not far from the A22 junction, WRAS founder Trevor Weeks MBE, was driving home after a rescue, when a car overtook his ambulance and pulled in front of him with hazard lights on. Trevor assumed that the person had a casualty or something – after previously having been stopped in similar ways. The white male thought to be in his early 30s and about 6ft tall got out of the dark coloured, old style, either Ford and Vauxhall hatchback type vehicle. Trevor got out to see what the problem was, expecting the person to raise concerns about a casualty, but before Trevor knew what was happening, the man grabbed Trevor by the throat, forcefully pinned him to the side of the ambulance and started demanding "Where are the drugs, give me your drugs".
