On the 16th June 2012 WRAS founder Trevor Weeks was named in the Queen's Birthday 2012 Honours List to be appointed a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE).

The first he knew of this was when a letter arrived a month ago from the Cabinet Office stating "The Prime Minister has asked me to inform you, that having accepted the advice of the Head of the Civil Service and the Main Honours Committee, he proposes to submit your name to the Queen.
