A Pigeon has been rescued from inside the roof of Bexhill's Next Store.  Originally there were reports of two being present but only one could be found.

Rescuers Trevor Weeks and Chris Riddington attended the store. Yesterday (Thursday) they left food and water on a window ledge to encourage the pigeons through a ceiling tile into an office. Today they returned set up a hatch which could block them into the office and prevent them from flying back into the ceiling. Amazingly with in minutes of doing so a pigeon flew through the hatch down to the window. » Read more

 East Sussex WRAS has had its first two dovelets of the year and its only the second week of the year!

Although doves can nest all year round, it is rare for East Sussex WRAS to admit any into care till March. Two dovelets were admitted this week, one from Uckfield and another from Stone Cross Eastbourne. Sadly the smaller dove from Stone Cross  did not survive, but the slightly older one from Uckfield is doing well but not out of the woods yet. » Read more

Volunteers and staff at East Sussex Wildlife Rescue & Ambulance Service (WRAS) have seen a 24% increase in the number of wildlife casualties being admitted into their Casualty Centre in 2016. This festive season they have also been kept busy [See List below] and seen their Casualty Centre at Whitesmith East Sussex looking after more than 150 casualties. » Read more

East Sussex Wildlife Rescue and Ambulance Service, were called to a fox caught in a football net on a school playing field in Eastbourne this morning.

The concerned staff, at Willingdon Primary School, spotted the distressed fox entangled in the net. They moved children away and awaited rescuers to arrive. WRAS rescuer Iain Turner and Casualty Manager Chris Riddington arrived on site and quickly assessed the situation. » Read more
