Badger rescued from swimming pool

A badger has been rescued from a swimming pool in Denehurst Gardens, Hastings on Saturday 13th February. Volunteer Michael Lamb from East Sussex Wildlife Rescue and Ambulance Service (WRAS) attended on site within 30 minutes and was able to catch the badger using a dog grasper. Luckily the swimming pool was empty but the owners of the property had been on holiday so it was unclear how long the badger may have been in the pool for.

Apart from a few minor cut and bruises on its head the badger is seems fine. The badger is currently in a badger holding pen and will hopefully be released once he has been fully assessed, no addition problems are found and he is eating well.
