Fox Caught in Stock Fencing Rescue

East Sussex WRAS rescuers rushed out to a fox with a rear leg caught in stock fencing near Laughton.

Rescuers Ellie Langridge and Sandra Furner attended on site and were able to secure the fox whilst working to free its twisted body and leg from the wire fence.

After cutting a few strands of wire using wire cutters the fox was able to be lowered into a transportation cage. The fox was taken back to WRAS's Casualty Care Centre and checked over.

Initially it was thought that the fox may have a dislocated leg, but an X-ray showed that not to be the case. The fox was given pain relief and bedded down for the night and will be better assessed tomorrow morning.
