Hedgehog Week Cake Competition 2020

The 3rd May sees the start Hedgehog Awareness Week 2020.

Entries have now closed for our competition!

Hedgehogs are in serious decline, and every year East Sussex WRAS deals with more and more. In 2019 WRAS dealt with over 550 hedgehogs.

Normally during Hedgehog Awareness Week we would organise something educational but due to the Coronavirus Restrictions this hasn't been possible.

So this year we are doing something fun. We want you to make a Hedgehog Style Cake and enter our Competition!

Entry is just £2.50 and we need a photo of your cake! At the end of the week we will run a public competition to choose the best cake from a shortlist. The most likes will be the winner.

How to enter via Facebook: Once you have made your cake, make a donation of £2.50 via the donate button on our facebook page. Then send us your picture via a direct message on our Facebook page letting us know the name of the person making the £2.50 or we won't know you have paid. Our facebook page can be found at: www.facebook.com/wildlifeambulance

How to enter via E-mail: Once you have made your cake, make a donation of £2.50 via one of these links: Cardsave/worldpay or Giveasyoulive . Then e-mail your photo to events@eastsussexwras.org.uk

Keep an eye on our Facebook page throughout Hedgehog Awareness Week as we will be posting hedgehog information throughout the week too.

Completition closes on Friday 8th May 3pm.

The judging will take place over the weekend of 9th/10th May on our facebook page. We will also post a link here to the album on facebook. Judgeing closes at around 11am on Monday 11th May where the likes will be counted.

We will notify the winner within 24 hours.

You could win this lovely silver pendant and hedgehog notebook from Faye's Emporium, who have kindly donated these prizes.

Why not have a look at some of Faye's other items for sale on their website https://www.fayesemporium.com/

There you will find a selection of truly unique jewellery inspired by a love of nature and wildlife.

Each piece is made from scratch by hand from the beginning stages of a sketch on paper to cutting and shaping the silver using hand tools; soldering, engraving and polishing created in their little studio in the evergreen village of Denton in East Sussex.

All of this is done with a tremendous love and passion to create. If you have something in mind that you can not find in their shop please do not hesitate to contact as them direct and they will be more than happy to work on a bespoke piece to suit your requirements.
